KDC Participates In China's DMB Construction
August 26, 2005
KDC (Korea Digital Communications) received the Chinese government's DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) order amounting to US$200,000. The Chinese government plans to invest US$2 million in building a DMB platform and wired/wireless relay networks in Beijing's Zhongguancun in late 2005. KDC said they were still negotiating with Chinese government for more orders. If the negotiation goes smoothly, KDC will be able to get involved in China's DMB transfer project and the national wired network construction. In addition, the Chinese government will allocate about three trillion won for DMB network construction. KDC forecasted that the order from Chinese government in 2006 would amount to at least 200 billion won.
